Photographer's Note
People in Taiwan are devestated. Thanks to construction in Dubai, the Taipei 101 is no longer the tallest building in the world. Rather than coming in second, some have secretly set forth a plan to topple the 101. You can see by the way the building is listing that this plan has already been set in motion. Many will perish, including this man who is innocently flying a kite in the shadow of the 101.

Hi Darren,
fascinating the big Taipei in the background. From your perspective it looks quite fragile. I like the composition with the old man in the forground, but the main them is that building, isn't it? Great composition,

Nice, light fee to this, Drren, sustained by genuinely careful composition, the way the man's legs spread out towards the bottom left og the vertical frame. Good work,

It's quite interesting this old man sitting alone in a park and enjoying the kite flying. I didn't see many scenes like this in china; usually elderly people get together to chat or play chess.

Gripping note and like the hutongs in China, small places are being bulldozered for the sake of corporate expansion and pride. Perhaps necessary, yet heartbreaking. And your shot testifies to that. This innocent man may not know what is to come.
We are, after all, all flying our kites...
A very nice and moving work, with a superb composition, Darren.

I keep on coming back to this photo Darren, and I couldn't understand why. But now i've realised why. I like how you've taken a shot of Taipei's most famous landmark (like everyone else who's been there) but merely placed it into the background and in the foreground we have an equally interesting character going about his business.
I like the distortion of the tower and your witty note goes well with it. There ssomething about the colours i like as well!
