Photographer's Note

it was my first visit to Taiwan and we were hit by 2 successive typhoons coming from different directions on the Pacific ocean. Most of our schedules were cancelled and we spent 3 days in a roll on the bus to where were less poured.

we visited this holiday village, which was located in the area inhabited by local minorities. with not much to do, i wandered around the village in the morning and i found this pond with many varieties of water lily. This purple one is one the rarest species.

At first, I took a few without the duck at the top left corner and i felt something missing. I then threw a stone into it, trying to make some ripples at the surface of the pond. As i was disappointed with my hopeless aiming, this little creature just swam by . look at her, showing off in front of the camera!
