Photographer's Note

This is one of my vintage Black and White pictures taken in Korea in 1956 or 1957. Although I have lost the negative the reproduction was taken from my 8x12 original print, which I had enlarged at the photolab of the American 8th Army in Seoul. For those who may have forgotten, the Korean War started in 1950 and was over in 1953. This man from a nearby village was wearing the traditional Korean black hat made out of horsetail hair, as well as the traditional white
dress . A picture I took almost 50 years ago. I am
not sure that this outfit is still worn in provincial
areas, ( certainly not in big cities ) but I know it is worn in ceremonies. NB: The D100 is the camera with which I made the reproduction of the print.
