Photographer's Note

Tonghak Peasant Revolution brought Joseon dynasty an end. Tonghak may be translated "Eastern Thoughts".
Some of the Tonghak movement established "Cheondogyo".
After the colonization, Cheondogyo which has the tenet "Man is god" lead 1919 independence movement along with buddhists and christians.
In 1921, this building designrd by a Japanese architect Nakamura Yoshihei had built to house Cheondogyo.
Before the completion of Cheondogyo cathedral, Nakamura's atelier had set fire by someone and burnt down wholly in December 1920. Nakamura came back to Japan after the fire.
