Photographer's Note

Since January 19, 2010, the city of Pyatigorsk is the administrative center of the North Caucasian Federal District of Russia. Since March 22, 2011, the city also is the cathedral city of Pyatigorsk-and-Cherkesk Eparchy comprising Orthodox churches of the Caucasian Mineral Waters Region, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia. In the picture you can see Mikhailo-Arkhangelskiy Sobor, the main cathedral of this eparchy. It was built at the end of XIX century.

At Soviet times the cathedral was used as a warehouse. Now it is fully reconstructed. But the cathedral is surrounded by commercial buildings, and there is little space around it. It was impossible to find a point of view, from where the entire church went in a single shot. I had to make two shots and stitch them.
