Photographer's Note

This comparatively small mountain (994 m above sea level), Zmeyka (meaning "small serpent"), is the first mountain, which is seen by anyone, who comes to the Caucasian Mineral Waters Region through its main gate, Mineralnye Vodi (Mineral Waters) City, where there are a big airport, railway and bus stations. Although the main spas of the region, Georgiyevsk, Mineralnie Vodi, Zheleznovodsk, Pyatigorsk, Yessentuki, Kislovodsk, Lermontov and Goryachevodskiy, are in Stavropol Kray, it comprises also North-Western part of Kabardino-Balkariya (its Zolskiy District) and 2 districts of Karachayevo-Cherkessia (Malokarachayevskiy and Prikubanskiy).

In Mineralnie Vodi my bike approach to Caucasus was over. The next bike trip over Caucasus Mountains was to start from Prokhladniy, Kabardino-Balkariya on the same day.

GPS coordinates: 44.20139 Lat, 43.11323 Long, 335 m
