Photographer's Note

I left Bratsk by train at sundown, & this was the view from the train window when I awoke, at around 7am. The rail line crosses over between two 'oblasts' or provinces, from Irkutsk to Buriatia. This is a poorly represented area on TE, so I thought it was still worth uploading, despite the overcast sky. These mountains form the border between the 2 oblasts. Lake Baikal lies on the other side of these ranges, several hundred km over on the right. I detrained in Severobaikalsk on the north west shore of this massive lake, the world's oldest, deepest & largest freshwater lake. The line between Bratsk & SeveroBaikalsk is known as the 'BAM' or Baikal Amur Mainline. The TSR is further south.

I had the twin horrors of a dirty window, & motion blur, from the moving train, to contend with here. My timing had to be spot on too, to compose this with the stream commencing in the bottom left corner.
