Photographer's Note
Night shot I took yesterday of this world famous church on blood. You can have a day view too in my previous posts of Saint Petersburg. I love this shot, Here I have done minimum PP,that is little added sharpness and tried to remove wires with clone tool, thats all!
Hope you like it.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!
Comments are welcome.

NOTE:
This marvelous Russian-style church was built on the spot where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated in March 1881. After assuming power in 1855 in the wake of Russia’s disastrous defeat in the Crimean war against Britain, France and Turkey, Alexander II initiated a number of reforms. In 1861 he freed the Russian serfs (peasants, who were almost enslaved to their owners) from their ties to their masters and undertook a rigorous program of military, judicial and urban reforms, never before attempted in Russia. However, during the second half of his reign Alexander II grew wary of the dangers of his system of reforms, having only barely survived a series of attempts on his life, including an explosion in the Winter Palace and the derailment of a train. Alexander II was finally assassinated in 1881 by a group of revolutionaries, who threw a bomb at his royal carriage.
The decision was taken to build a church on the spot where the Emperor was mortally wounded. The church was built between 1883 and 1907 and was officially called the Resurrection of Christ Church (a.k.a. The Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood ). The construction of the church was almost entirely funded by the Imperial family and thousands of private donators. Both the interior and exterior of the church is decorated with incredibly detailed mosaics, designed and created by the most prominent Russian artists of the day (V.M. Vasnetsov, M.V. Nesterov and M.A. Vrubel). Interestingly, despite the church’s very obviously Russian aspect, its principle architect, A. Parland, was not even Russian by birth.
The church was closed for services in the 1930s, when the Bolsheviks went on an offensive against religion and destroyed churches all over the country. It remained closed and under restoration for over 30 years and was finally re-opened in 1997 in all its dazzling former glory. The view of the church from Nevsky Prospect is absolutely breathtaking.

Good colors and composition. I wonder if the sky would have come out a richer and darker blue if the photo had been taken just a few minutes later?

WOnderful night shot taken in the blue hour. The perspective of the canal carries our eye successfully to the church. The wide aperture has probably worked well to make the use of a tripod unnecessary as the fast shutter has kept all the ripples in the water.
Well done

Hello Vivek,
A nice night shot well exposed.
I personnaly think it could have been improved if you were on the left part of the bridge, so the composition would be less centered and you could easily crop the lamp which are nearly too bright and catch the regard.

Didier

This is a really good shot, Vivek. Never mind the excellent composition, what really makes this shot spectacular is the mixture of light sources. The natural light from the sky is a great combination with the electric lights on the buildings; its produced some great colours.
Good work.

Hi Vivek,
Very successful blue hour shot of a place so familiar to me! This is my native city, I was born and spent my childhood and youth there. Very good perspective of the channel leading us to this marvellous church. The boat is a finding and balances the composition. Very good work indeed!

I still prefer this one Vivek. With a strong perspective you take us along the orange warm facades deep in the scene to dicover the well enlightened church sharply with a contrasting deep blue sky, a beauty.

This is a lovely image. The dramatic perspective accentuates the importance of the wonderful church. The wonderful warm light on the stonework contrasts so nicely with the cool dark sky. I think that in resisting the temptation to make the shot completely symmetrical, and choosing a position to one side, you made a good choice. It adds interest and drama to the shot. Regards Kevin

Hi Vivek
This is quite outstanding..the view along the river, leading is to the church is fantastic is provides amazing depth. Night colours have been superb...technically your wide aperture has helped your taking the shot without a tripod with outstanding result...Excellent

Privet Vivek,
Aaaahhhhhhhhhh, Spas na Krovi :-)
Subject is awesome, be it at night or in daytime, the night light makes it shine and during the blue hour it becomes feeric, lovely. But... I think you could have found a better PoV, the cars perspective on the right is not atractive and takes too much space, also the houses hide part of the church, why not shoot from a closer position on the left bank of the canal ? If you are still in Piter, worth to give it a try I think.
Have a nice week end,
jean-Yves

You are taking excellent night shots Vivek. I like the historic place like these that contributes a lot to mankind. Spectacular capture. I've read some literature about the "Joan of Arc" of France and I wanted to go there if at all I had an opportunity to visit. Pretty moving incident behind the structure.
Lights around the structure makes is unique and stands tall. So I like your choice of using other shorter buildings to enhance the presense of the subject.

Hi Vivek,
this one is a good and deep perspective obtained with an excellent POV and a good frame.
Geometry which they create the lines of the channel directly leads the eyes to us towards the gorgeous church. The illumination which you have given the photo is very good, and you obtain colors with golden and red tones really splendid.
Good sky also.

Hello Vivek
Interesting perspective on the canal with a good management of light in the 90% of the composition.
For the 10% I suggest a little underexposure on the highligts.
Cheers.
