Photographer's Note

Although it may look like an Arabic room somewhere in the orient, this photo was taken today at the Yussupov Palace in Saint Petersburg! Having a day off I decided to visit a museum with a friend and as most museums in St. Petersburg are closed on mondays our choice was limited. However, this palace is overwhelming and with us being only a couple of more visitors there we had a perfect photo location. The palace is much larger than one would think when seeing the building from outside and Mr. Yussupov seems to have earned a fortune in his lifetime (all this must have cost him millions). The rooms are extraordinarily decorated and there was everything from a Venezian room, to Florence Renaissance, Baroque and an Arabic and a Turkish room! Very impressive and when ever you happen to be in Saint Petersburg: visit this place!
