GOSTINYY DVOR PANORAMA, a photo from Saint Petersburg, Northwest

Photographer's Note

I was coming back to my hotel to take the luggage before to fly to another region of Russia. My hotel was near a green roof you can see at right side.
---This huge public building you can see in this panorama is Gostinyy Dvor, created around 1785 and it has 1006 meters of façade occupying a whole block. It was used originally as a place to make business but nowadays is used as a place for many small shops. Behind these arches there are long corridors with the gates of the shops.
As you can notice, the vehicles in central part of the compo were cut in a half.

Eu estava voltando ao meu hotel para apanhar a bagagem e pegar o voo para outra região da Rússia. Ao fundo á direita vocês podem ver um telhado verde, o meu hotel ficava bem próximo dali.
---Esse edifício enorme cheio de arcos é o Gostinyy Dvor, criado por volta de 1785 e que conta com fachadas que tem 1006 metros de extensão, ocupando um quarteirão inteiro. Originalmente era usado como local para se fazer comércio e hoje em dia abriga várias lojas pequenas. Atrás desses arcos existem longos corredores que dão acesso às portas das lojas.
Como vocês devem ter reparado, os carros no centro da foto ficaram cortados pela metade.

It is a pity that it has a lot of folding errors.

Hello Jorge,

This is a fine panorama, giving viewers an excellent impression of the huge building, occupied by small shops. The double arched facade gives it a very distinctive and attractive appearance.

How inconsiderate those vehicles were!
However, they do add a touch of humour to this Russian scene.

Jorge, the panoramic shot is adaptated to show this huge building. It houses small shops nowadays. Excellent presentation of the local architecture. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Jorge,
With cars like those it would be easy to find parking space in crowded streets. ;-) Cars cut in half don't look as scary as the people cut in half that are often seen in the Google street views.
In spite of the funny cars it's an impressive panorama. The only pity is that photos of this shape look so tiny that it is necessary to enlarge them to be able to see any details.

Hello Jorge,

I've big screen 60cm diagonal, picture to 1500 x 1000 are always wonderful yo look at, also this pano image.
What a nice arhitectural picture, you chose a perfect angle with sight on straat too.
Also a nice contrast with of different colours.

Hello Jorge, I am very curious where you flew to the other region of Russia. Interesting composition showing the whole Gostinny Dvor - difficult task, it is so long. I was a bit disappointed with the interior of it. I liked this red building with the tower very much. So you stayed so close to it. The cut cars look funny.
