Photographer's Note
Here we can see a detail of one of the altars inside Spilled Blood Church, this way you can pay attention in the quality of the mosaics they created, at same time the artwork in stones around is impressive. What I guessed interesting is the fact Mary and her son have intense black eyes, while in western art they are shown with blue eyes usually, of course the most probable is they had brown eyes and brown hair, as was usual in the jew population at that age.
.............

Jorge, splendid work of mosaic that represents Mary and Jesus seen in a museum. They are sat on a chair and are surrounded by angels. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Jorge,
They may have dark eyes, but the child's hair looks rather blond, not likely to have been very common in the Middle East 2,000 years ago, but probably common in Russia when this mosaic was made. I agree that it is very cleverly made, looking very much like a painting until I enlarged the photo. The light is well handled and the well decorated columns provide nice frames.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Jorge,
beautiful detail of the church again. I like mosaics the require so much work, This one is so realistic.
The columns on both sides are not less richly decorated.
Great reportage, we can take time here to admire the beauty of this place,

Hi Jorge,
The columns are framing well the artwork. The point of view is showing the details of the painting. The light is giving good rendering of the colours. Have a nice day.

hello Jorge, It is difficult to guess that this is a mosaic, not a painting. But some people are very skilled. In Asia, the embroidery can look like a photo.
Who knows how Christ and his mother looked like? I find it interesting that some venerated madonnas are black, like our Madonna from Częstochowa or Madonna from Montserrat. The legend is that our madonna was painted by Apostol Luke.
Best regards MAlgo
