Photographer's Note

So 65 years ago ended the most horrible and epic event in the history of humankind - Second World War in Europe (I'm well aware of the fact that it waged for 3 more months in Pacific region).
50 millions of people perished, hundreds of cities and thousands of villages were turn into ashes, unbeleivable crimes were performed.
But also great bravery and courage was shown, and finally, after 6 years of battles and efforts, good guys overcome the bad ones. As simple as that - in the end it was that.
Thus, here I want to commemorate this minimalistic photo, made today during my walk around Peter and Paul Fortress in St-Petersburg, to all those fallen and those who are still alive and to all these who are living toay, to remember the event that happened 65 years ago.
