Photographer's Note

Pskov, ancient city on the North-West of Russia, has a 42 churches build before year 1700. Also there are very strange names for the churches there. For example, this one is Novoznesenskaya church, meaning New Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ; it can be interpreted in lot of ways, sorry I'm not the expert in religious questions.
For those familiar with my gallery: you think that sooner or later I'll stop posting all these ancient churches here? Yes definitely, but only after I'll post them all, :)
Building younger than 400 years old is new and not very interesting to me, but there are lot of things much older than that in Russia. So It' s kind of destiny to put them all on TE.
Errr... So let me count, 42 in Pskov, and 40 in Novgorod, and about 30 in Moscow, and 20-30 in Vladimir and Suzdal, and in Smolensk, and in Archangelsk and Rostov and Yaroslavl and so on and so on...
It'll take years, I'm afraid.
