Photographer's Note

Usually, bike-tourists do a shot stop after descent from a high-altitude mountain saddle. In this case it was rather a pass, because there was a dirt road along the whole way between valleys of the Cherek Besengiyskiy and Chegem rivers. Due to the comparatively high altitude (2524 m) of the pass and a mist on it, there was cold there. The bikers had to dress warmer. Now, after the steep part of the descent, they can take out unnecessary garments.

The descent from 2524 m to 2000 m above sea level, where this place is situated, took about 2 hours. Then the tourists drove down along the Kardan River to its emptying into the Chegem near the Eltyubyu Village, at the altitude of 1500 m.
