Painting houses

Listvyanka, translated "larch village",
a small settlement where people live mostly in wooden houses that need to be painted in summer, as this woman is doing

Listvyanka is called the gateway to Lake Baikal, is located to the southwest of Lake Baikal, 70 km south of Irkutsk

Russian pioneers came to this spot in the middle of the 17th century, and a hundred years later there was a stage-post here. The settlement grew along with the development of navigation on Lake Baikal
It has today 1000 inhabitants, a school, three kindergartens, a sanatorium, 4 public Banjas (Russian baths), a post office, a small zoo near the inn "The Bears", the shipyard and the observatory Baïkal with a lens diameter of one meter, in addition, there are two souvenir markets, one of them conveniently located at the port ( where tourist come )
