Photographer's Note

This is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier dedicated to the Soviet soldiers killed bewteen 1941-1945 and located at the Kremlin's Wall.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was unveiled in 1967 and was designed by architects D.I.Burdin, V.A.Klimov, Yu.R.Rabayev and sculptor N.V.Tomsky.

The tombstone itself can be seen in the background of the photo - a decorated sculptural composition made of bronze and the memorial's flame (here not vistile).

In the foreground there is a granite alley made of porphyry plates with incapsulated soils from the hero cities: Leningrad, Kiev, Volgograd, Odessa (on the photo), Sevastopol, Minsk, Kerch, Novorossiysk, Tula and Brest.
