Surfer novice show off, a photo from La Union, Ilocos

Photographer's Note

Eager to be photographed, this Filipino-Japanese boy showed off to the best of his skill striding alongside his surfboard, barely able to stand up. Despite his efforts, he keeps on wearing a good smile. I guess he appreciates someone taking notice of what he has learned so far from his chosen sport.

The light condition wasn't ideal (overcast). Using my point n shoot w/ fill flash, I have to wait for the subject to get near enough.

not so usual a subject, and this cute kid is really happy surfing and showing it. The rushing flow of the water certainly add movement as he poses for you.

I think you could have cropped a bit closer, for a squarer iamge.
