Photographer's Note
I tried searching the internet for the name of this seashore crab, but to no avail I wasn’t able to. Locally here in the Philippines we call this small creature as "kolokoy". Its body diameter is almost the size of a dime and you usually see them in groups of 50 or more crawling slowly on shores after the tide. When you walk near them they just dig themselves under the sands. I love this funny creature when I was a boy, and I still do today…
Am just curious if there are species like this from other countries?

Did you see my pic? Different crabs, different place, but same fenomenon: they get out at low tied and run away when you approach them! Are they also artists in the Philippines?

Kolokoy? Isn't that your name? :) Just kidding, Remus!
I like her portrait on the left picture, she's in her best pose - proud and mighty! At right, I'm more amazed at the road ahead - those stones on the beach look like the surface of another planet, and she's got a long way to go! Great shots, both of them! Focusing is done properly! Interesting blue crab color, too! rgds.

I like more the photo on the left, the sharpness and the pose is really beautiful. I agree with Alford the long way to the shore seem so impossible for this cute creature to achieve with lots of obstacle in between. very good POV. well done...rgds

Very beautiful and sharp. But sorry, I don't know the name of it!
I think I would prefere two separates version of this crab, because the contrast in the two DOF choices are hurting me a bit.

Photo on right has a great POV! Great macro as well. I was surprised when I read the notes on its size. Good idea with such an effect as to how the crab seem to go on a long quest across the vast shoreline, hurdling through the sand balls scattered around by other burrowing crabs like him as if to go to a battle.
Which I think is appropriate, since I guess it is a soldier crab (Dotilla myctiroides). Make a web search and holler if you agree :)
