Building Beach Hut, a photo from Cebu, Central Visayas

Photographer's Note

This is White Beach, Moalboal almost ten years ago… This beach is like many in the Philippines a well-kept secret to the outside world, even if the sand is as white as Boracay and the water even more inviting…

What we see here is the start of the commercial development of White Beach, a couple of guys are building one of the very first beach huts intended for accommodation of tourists. Later the place has seen further development along this line, but nothing like for instance at Mactan Island in Cebu, that also hosts an international airport located less than a 30 minutes drive from any of the resorts.

Moalboal is a town on the South West coast of Cebu, situated some 90 km from Cebu City. The place has gained fame in scuba circles because of the coral reefs around Pescador Island, which also host a school of hammerhead sharks…

Great mood here. I like the natural feeling of the picture. The tree of the back, is a fantastic dark background for the cabin. ANd we can even have a pic of the ocean and the beach.

Olá Pablo, this kind of beach huts are perfect for me. I don't need any luxuries, since I've got a paradisiac environment just outside the lodge. I just checked for other posts of this place in TE and I was surprised with the results. Fortunately, it seems that this beach still remains a well-kept secret to the outside world.

I believe you were looking here for te Philpino equivalent of the Norvegian wooden house. Good sharpness, colors perhaps a bit faded in my opinion.

the simplicity is sometimes more enjoyable...The hut looks simple but I guess it may provided such lovely moments in this beach. I like a lot how you framed, including the tree in the back and the working men. Good work on the catching, thanks for sharing this old one!

I like these places and I'd like to live there, but SouthEast Asia has regular storms with the numerous victims. It is stopped me. very nice composition, good colours. Excellent quality for a scan.
