Photographer's Note
The Philippines is a country rich in festivals of which I think no month would pass without a fiesta of a carnival-type is being held on any part of the country. Well, this is one of those and witnessing how the locals prepare for this event is such a good indication of how faithful they are (or, we are) up to this modern times to preserve this tradition which is a strong influence from Spain when our country was under their rule for over 330 years. A fiesta usually commemorates a patron saint like the one seen on this photo, the Sta. Monica.

Hello Mics,
This is a richly coloured photograph, full of dance drama and beautifully composed, the audience creating the last 'thirds' and, also, the sense of depth. Perhaps a slight loss of sharpness but indicative of the movement.
I love to see festivals and events which promote the history and b/g of the people. Let's hope they never disappear with the competition from modern media!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Mics,
I like this colorful photo. The children and their costumes are beautiful. I like how the girl is holding the small statue of the patron saint as she dances. The wall of spectators in the background is very nice, too. it's interesting to look at each one of them.

Hello Michelle
Colourful and interesting. The spectators are obviously fascinated, although most of them look fairly serious. Yet this looks fun and carnival-like. The Spanish influence is clear.

What a lovely and colorful shot, with excellent composition and sharpness. What I especially like is the inclusion of he young audience enjoying the festivities. I imagine there is musical accompaniment here.
