Photographer's Note

One of the old houses at Las Casas Filipinas in Bagac, Bataan is reflected on a pond. 18th and 19th century Philippine houses from different parts of the country were disassembled and re-assembled in this seaside development. At first, it seemed like a bad idea taking the houses from their original locations rather than restoring and preserving them where they were originally built. But knowing how local communities value their architectural heritage (they usually don't), it may seem a better option to collect these houses and bring them where they will be maintained and better appreciated. There are now more than 20 old houses in this new 'old community.' Taking pictures of architectural reflections is one of the techniques i learned from trekearth.
