Photographer's Note

Kim Il-Sung (the Eternal Leader) and Kim Jong-Il (the Dear Leader) stand immortalised in bronze, on Munsudae Hill in Pyongyang, North Korea.

The statues are 20 metres high and cast in bronze. You can get a sense of the scale from the guard at the lower left.

An interesting fact: Kim Il-Sung is the only dead person to have ever held (and still holds) the position of a nation's president. That's how much they loved the bloke. Who 'they' are exactly, is as ambiguous as the authenticity of pretty much everything you'll see during a tour of North Korea. Which is what makes a trip there so mind-bendingly fascinating.
