Photographer's Note
Okay, something different from my usual people photos. This image was taken in the Khumbu region of Nepal during a trek to Kala Pattar to see Mt. Everest. The stone structure in the image is called a "chorten" and is used as a receptacle for offerings. The eyes represent the all-seeing eyes of Buddha. Prayer flags dot the landscape.
Nepal is a beautiful country with majestic scenery. As much as I had read about Nepal, I was still taken aback by its beauty and even more so by the beauty and kindness of its people. Nepal is definitely a highlight of my travels.

Another great shot! - wonderful color and saturation! --the colorful flags make a nice arch through the sky.
I do wish there was a tiny bit more blue sky on the left..there most likey is: I work in the photo industry and I sometimes tap on side of a slide to reveal what is under the slide mount.
great work--cant wait to see more
cheer eh!

Spiros: I didn't catch you as the shooter on this one. Brilliant, perhaps lucky compo strike here. Perhaps a little deeper on your f/stop, but considering slide work, it leaps out. A very nice postcard for sure. c

Hi Spiros. A wonderful arc of colour around the majestic mountain peak and against a glorious blue sky. If this were mine I'd crop to leave only the top tier of the chorten.

Hi Spiros - this is definitely a place I aim to return to later this year, I first went in march 2000 (7 months before you!) but the weather was hazy and stormy, and my kind of photo, blending nature with culture, the arc of the prayer flags looks fantastic.

Hello Spiros,
This is a magically beautiful shot. I love the POV and the composition. But the most beautiful part is the lovely mountain in he background as we watch it against the old temple. The colourful flags adds good effect to this capture. Excellent sharpness and light condition with very good vertical framing.
Well done
Thanks for sharing
Best wishes

This pov is excellent to create joy, colors and multiple interest in the compo. I've never been to Nepal, but I suppose the spirit of the country is there. Great compo, with a good technical realization.

You've captured an incredible scene with an excellent composition here. I love the intense blue sky and the contrasting snow, clouds, and prayer flags. Your image quality seems to be of a very high standard and I found your note both interesting and informative. To me, this sort of photography is what Trek Earth is all about.
Well done.
