Photographer's Note

A food stall by the lake Phewa where I bought a bowl of dal sprinkled with crushed Puri bread.

I won't be remembered as a good customer though, as I paid with a 1000 rupee note for a 200 rupee (about 2 USD) meal. While travelling in Nepal, obtaining small change and/or paying without it in most establishments (including budget Kathmandu hotels) is notoriously difficult. I noticed later that the only way to change bigger notes was to take taxis and pay with 1000 rupee notes for 100 rupee rides. Taxi drivers always had change and accepted higher value notes without arguments.

In WS two more scenes photographed during a walk by the lake Phewa.

Pokhara Valley did not share the fate of Kathmandu Valley and was NOT destroyed by the 2015 earthquake. It is ready for visitors just as it was in December 2014. That's why... I didn't visit it again during my second trip in 2016.
