Photographer's Note

In our fascinating journey through the Lower Mustang region, for most of the time, we traveled across cold, barren, arid landscape, in parts brown, in patches rusty, at certain points, the variety of hues and colours were spellbinding.
However, there were also a few patches of magical greenery. This strip of green above the village of Jharkot also had a small pool of water.
The trail follows the slope on the left which as you see is in the shadows, hence it was quite a cool walk. At the edge of the greenery, which is almost at the point where it meets the huge hill from the left, we would reach a point from where we could see the village of Kagbeni below, along the Kali Gandaki River. The fading shape of the hills on the right is a part of the great Dhaulagiri range.
