Photographer's Note

Looking down the South face of Ama Dablam (6856m) to the Mingbo Glacier thousands of feet below taken from the SW ridge heading up to Camp 2.

If you look very, very closely and follow along the frozen river stretching out from the end of the glacier you can just make out the Sherpa village of Pangboche at the bottom of the right hand hillside. And even further along the village of Khunde is just visible where Ed Hillary funded a hospital and school. These are two of the places that all trekkers and expedition climbers pass through on their way to Everest Base Camp.

This shot was taken just below Camp 2 at a height of about 6100m (20000ft).
