Photographer's Note

A view of the Baruntse base camp area. Actually the camp is just a few meters below on the left, at 5500 meters high. Behind the brown moraine stands the west col (about 6000 meters). It's a key point to access the plateau which leads to the Sherpani col and the to the Makalu valley.

The summit of the Baruntse (7200 meters) is the highest point in the background, on the left.

It's a very desert and mineral place, very cold also, located in the Hinku valley (not very far from the Khumbu valley).

Ces images sont toujours impressionnantes !!
Quelle richesse dans les détails .... surtout lorsque je vois la date de prise de vue !
Le ciel est d'un bleu captivant et fait ressortir la blancheur de la montagne.

Bonjour Laurent,

Cette photo m'intéresse beaucoup. Après avoir fait le trek Tumlingtar - Mera Peak jusqu'à son sommet en 2005, je prévois de faire un peu plus dur avec le Baruntsé en octobre 2007. As-tu fait l'ascension ? Par quelle voie est-tu arrivé au camp de base ? Cela vallait-t-il le coup ? J'aimerais bien avoir tes impressions !
