Photographer's Note
Ally tells me he remembers very little of this day other than it being very hard work for him as he had a searing headache due to the altitude and rarefied air. He is coming up over one of the multitude of humps we had to traverse whilst on our way to Gokyo along the Ngozumpa glacial moraine with Cholatse (6440m) towering behind him.
The clouds that afternoon were dark and foreboding, swirling all around us creating a heavy atmosphere. I have not altered the lighting in this shot as it actually reflects the atmosphere at the time.
This was one of my favourite days in the mountains. The oppressive ambience only lead to further impose the majesty and drama of the uncompromising, glaciated mountain environment that was unfolding in front of us.

Very nicely framed. Great shot of the peak.
On my monitor (I'm using a LCD at the time, it doesn't have a lot of contrast range) 'Ally' is only a dark shape. I wouldn't have know that it was a person if the notes hadn't told me.
If that's how it shows on your monitor I would recommend lightening the darker areas so that one can see some detail.
