Photographer's Note

Mongla is just a tiny collection of houses, 4000m high on the side of a Himalayan hillside, overlooking the superb Khumbu region of Nepal. This view looks from Mongla towards Phortse. You can see the trails crossing the mountainside, which we visited later in the week. When we awoke here the following day, the landscape was covered in snowfall. Clouds crept up the valley from below, and not long after this shot the fog was so thick one could not see more than a few metres in front. Mongla was a superb vantage to view some giant peaks including Thamserku and Ama Dablam.
