Photographer's Note
This was taken a few moments before the image I posted yesterday. This was the real alpenglow on Everest as seen from Gorkyo Ri.
A really big mountain (the world's biggest actually).
I realized after this hike and spending some time above 5000m that mountain climbers are both tough and crazy.

Wow! Somehow the contrast in colour helps to bring out the imense scale of the mointain. Something which is otherwise hard to acheive. Good job on expo!

A magnificent view of the top of the world.
Nice sunset colours. The red haze above the peak makes the picture really interesting.
Taken in a really good moment.
I added you picture to the theme I created - it fits perfectly there!

i thought this was a filtered shot...its good and pretty compelling to look at..
how...or why did you use such a large f stop with such a low speed...? no depth of field is required..or was it a P shot...as i use a lot until i see the 'wrong' combinations for my purpose..
a closer view would also emphasise the afterglow
ran out of workshops..

Thank you Dan for offering us this sunrise illuminating Everest, without any temperature inconvenience...
Spending some nights in the range of 5000 meters is already a bit difficult... and may be even a little crazy...

Hi and many thanks for sharing this fabulous composition with us on TE. The light and colors are somptuous, and the composition is well balanced (even if ther's maybe too much place allowed to the sky...) and perfectly sharp. I like to see the tiny cloud hanging on the summit. Congratulations !

Hello Dan. Very good photo. I like very much the light and the composition. The red light in the top of the mountain is very spectacular. Very sharp image and good exposition. Perhaps, a white border can improve the visual aspect of your photo. Good job.
