Photographer's Note

A hip shot without looking at the viewfinder that has always been my fav technique in street photography when the opportunity permits..

Caught him off guard, an old pilgrim at Swayambhunath Hindu Temple - also known as the Monkey Temple, offering a simple oil lamp as a token of prayer for peace & world enlightenment. When I look into the lit candles, I tend to get lost in a bit. I can almost see the candles flickr and feel the warmth they give off.

It feels like another world to me and for some reason tends to make me feel relaxed. But I don’t think that is a big surprise though, fire always has that affect on me - except when I am the one on fire, then it has the opposite effect.....

Whether you have a spiritual connection to this image or not, I hope it warms your day, if even for a minute.

nothing out of the ordinary, just s simple grab.
