Photographer's Note

As suggested, I added a lot of brigthness to my first B&W picture!

Photo taken around midnight of a rickshaw. In addition to being used as a transportation, the riskshaw is also used as berth for this man which one sees hardly the head.
This picture was initially color and was rather red which was pretty as well. Here, I try black & white which adds some emotion.

What is a rickshaw
In Kathmandu, a rickshaw, is a three-wheeled vehicle human propulsed, intended for the carriage of people and goods.
In its not motorized version, the driver is installed in front of a bicycle whose stay and aft wheel are replaced by a frame with a pair of side wheels. The driver controls the machine with the handlebar and the brakes, and possibly the riskshaw has levers of shifting of speed.
It also provides driving energy while operating the pedals; a chain ensures the transmission between the pedals and the axis of the aft wheels on the same principle as for a bicycle.
The back takes again the design of a rickshaw, with a seat or a bench posed on the frame. This part can be covered with a hood or a rigid roof to protect the passengers from the bad weather.
Many drivers of these machines provide a function of taxi, and live from this. The majority of them cannot buy themself the rickshaw and thus rent it at companies. Even when the machine does not belong to them, it generally work on their account or gather in companies according to the same principle as the companies of automobile taxis.
