Photographer's Note

The statue of Kal bhairav is located nearby Hanuman dhoka in Kathmandu durbar square. Kal bhairav is called a protector of universe as per hindu mythology. This huge stone image represents the Hindu god, Shiva, in his destructive manifestation. This sculpture was once used by the government as a place for people to swear to tell the truth due to the legend that telling a lie while standing before Kal Bairav will bring instant death.
The statue is impressive in its ferocity and, strangely, in its humanity. The temple of Kal Bhairav wasn't affected by any major damage caused by the earthquake. The large statue had been found in a field nearby. Most locals passing by stop to pay their respects. Source : tripadvisor
