Photographer's Note

Swayambhunath is a holy Buddhist stupa set ontop of a large hill overlooking the city of Kathmandu. Here the devoted monks can be seen circling the stupa, spinning prayer wheels containing scripture. The stupa and surrounding temples are inhabited also by monkeys, lending the name 'monkey temple' to the structure. Also living on and near the temple where many large birds of prey which would circle the top of the hillside. The temple was reached after ascending a very steep stone stairway, and after paying a small fee visitors were able to enter the complex and see the expansive views from the top. Many hawkers/street sellers frequented this place, some being extremely hard to shake following you for over 100m. It made being here even more eventful.
