Photographer's Note

Bagan(almost 700 km north from Yangon) formerly Pagan, is an ancient city in the Mandalay Division of Burma. It was the ancient capital of several ancient kingdoms in Burma and it is located in the dry central plains of the country, on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwady River.
There are nowadays, two thousand Temples, Stupas and Pagodas left standing out of the original four thousand (which were damaged by earthquake in 1975). They were built at the time that Buddhism first flourished in the country.
