Photographer's Note

To stroll along this street is quite literally to step back in time through chapters of Burmese history. An example of a typical Anglo-Indian architectural survivor dated back in 1920, pastel green, combination of shop houses and accommodation above the ground floor.

The thick walls, high ceilings were designed to keep shops below and apartments above cool and comfortable. Baked in the hot season and drenched during the monsoon, this building like Burma itself, has seen better days and a testament to another era. But this architectural gem possesses certain charm and character....
