Photographer's Note

The many images inside the caves are made from one or more of gold, silver, marble, lacquer, teak and ivory. While labelling is prominent, it is of little or no use to foreign visitors, who are unable to read the language of inscription, presumably indicating the name of the donor and the circumstances or purpose of the donation. I suppose it is an experience - I have seen it and been there, I have done that, and so be it.
