The end, a photo from Yangon, South

Photographer's Note

Hi everyone, I have just arrived home from a fantastic four weeks in Burma. Flew to the north and travelled down slowly by, bus, pick-up, jeep and boat back to Yangon. Sometimes the travelling was hard, but always rewarding. Once I get my breath back, I will write a travelogue for those interested, but wanted to say hello. This is by last photo shot on Wednesday on the quiet streets of Yangon, (Martyrs Day).
Martyrs' day is to remember late General Aung San, father of the country's independence.
Aung San, along with eight other martyrs, were all assassinated 59 years ago on July 19, 1947 before the country regained independence from the British in 1948.
The eight other martyrs, assassinated along with General Aung San, include his bodyguard and seven councilor members.

Welcome back..!!
For a first start this is a very nice picture. DOF, sharpness and detail are very good.
First take a rest and hopefully we see more from you in the coming days.

Heey Elainbe, thought you were to come back not earlier than Monday!!
Good to see you, and I see that you felt the need to say hello to your friends. Hope, it was great! I want to hear your stories, please! I maybe hoped for an e-mail like last year, but I doubt the internet connections are widely available.

Hi Elaine and welcome back! I can't believe you are back already. I can see that you had a rewarding journey (printed out the travelogue as I don't have time to read it at this point. I read before I sleep and that's what I'll do with this; surely it will pay of with some great dreams!)
A lovely capture to start your series with. This sweet girl with her big, dark curious eyes, the tanaka widely smeared over her cheeks, draws us straight into a Burmese atmosphere. I very much enjoy your composition here too. I look forward to seeing the other shots, but unfortunately I am leading the life of a terrible workaholic at the moment and haven't been able to comment on TE - actually since before you left -so for too long! Good to have you back and again, can't wait for your posts. I will comment on the others soon, when time permits. You take me back to a country I miss so much at the moment, a country where you brought me to in some ways. Sabine
