Photographer's Note

A traditional astrologer-palmist sits on the roadside of Botataung Pagoda Street, downtown Rangoon with palmistry diagram that grabs my attention in the first place. This astrology permeates many aspects of local
culture, from matchmaking, ideal partners to planning wedding dates and starting new business ventures, etc.. etc

Yes, anything you want to know at a reasonable price.....

It wasn't the best photo I have ever taken, but for a grab shot I don't think my luck could have been better, even with the missing finger tips..

Setting: 70 mm, 1/100 sec, F5.6, ISO Raw 200, 1653 hrs

Hi Abmdsudi,the photo makes us understand perfectly what this man is doing, the reading of the lines of the hands is an art that has been handed down for centuries, also widespread by me but practiced especially by gypsies, who offer you reading and if you do not join, they cover you of curses .. hahaha ... excellent composition as always! Interesantano mesto za citanje buducnosti i davanje saveta, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Lep dlan sa obelezjima i fotografija.

A good photo of the palmist waiting patiently at the side of the road for people he could tell about their future. The banner with the hand and diagram is well included behind him as well.

Great scene to photograph. You may be critical about your framing but it's a superb shot. We don't need to see the fingertips in the drawing as we know they are there! It's the juxtaposition of the hand and the sitting man and the graphic qualities of this street photo that really makes it for me.

Hello Abmdsudi,
A fascinating photo that deserves to be viewed closely.
First I compared lines on the hand on the canvas behind the fortune teller with my hand and concluded that I will take a lot more photo. Then I looked at the face of the astrologer-palmist and marvelled at the expression on the face.
