Photographer's Note

An early morning shot from the best vantage point just after the sun fought hard to penetrate the morning mist above the horizon when the vast Pagan Plain is revealed before my eyes with its ensuing changes in colour and light that never ceases to amaze me. As always, it was an early rise at 4.30am and an hour bicycle ride to get to this shooting location on top of 9th century Shwesandaw Pagoda, and being all alone still in darkness on the aged rustic marble terrace after a steep climb, was quite something really, as I didn't quite know what awaits!!!!

This shot gives other worldly light & atmosphere and there is a beautiful stillness as nature starts to awaken from its slumber that I simply couldn't pull myself away from. But I reached a point where the light has passed its best. It was by far one of the most stunning locations I’ve ever been to and of course, one of most enjoyable shooting session I ever had..

Cokin ND graduated filter was used to balance the sky with the foreground.
