Photographer's Note

The Pagoda is the venue for one of Myanmar's most important annual festivals. I have not been able to discover any specifics about the structure itself, e.g. when it was built and by whom. I suspect it has been around for centuries. The immediate area functions much like a shopping mall, however. There is a lot of boat traffic in and around the neighbouring canals and waterways. This photograph, taken from my boat, is from the northwest, mid-afternoon. The geo coordinates in Google Earth are: 20.28.23.59N and 96.53.24.80E, with elevation at 891 metres.
