Photographer's Note

From my early morning photo walk about

Watching vendors going about their daily life at a busy market in Nyaungshwe was quite fascinating, a place where I could spend a whole morning scanning for photos. She's amongst the crowd as my prime target- a small time fish seller who appeared so engrossed in her own world, probably day dream or tired. Apart from her hidden facial feature, it's the distinctive traditional hat - a sort of informal national symbol that I find so attractive but also one of Burma's symbols of charm.

To me, this simple profile shot reveals an everyday beauty and appeal of rural Burma
