Ride on cowboy......
Go West, young Intha!

On a morning photo walk along the bank of a small canal near Inle Lake, I came across this unspoilt scene: An 'Intha' kid going home on his water buffalo, for him it’s a natural thing and routine but I found it a wonderful spectacle, also fascinating to observe the interaction between animal and his master. I reckon this must have taken place for centuries and it seems everything remains unchanged. The red sling bag is commonly worn by every Burmese known as the Shan bag and becomes almost a trademark of the country itself and deep in the background is Shan Mountains.

This ends with some questions: what will the boy's future going to be like say in fifty years time? when he reaches my age, will his children still be going home riding a water buffalo? Will the traditional way of life I saw, going to be replaced by a more materialistic one?

Only time will tell
Meantime enjoy the view, truly a different world from ours......
