Photographer's Note
Hi all,
the second of what will be many from Mongolia. The day we arrived at our tourist camp from he train station we were whisked off to a mini Nadaam festival going on nearby.
We arrived just in time for the horse race which the children participate in (even some as young as 2 just strapped on so they cant fall off).
This young man had just won the horse race and for his efforts won an electric washing machine. Just hope he had a generator to power it with back at his nomadic homestead :)
Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,
A wonderful take of this Mongolean horserider! Good note. Two years of age and being strapped to a horse. I would be horrified if it were my kid :-). Fun note on the washing machine. Yeah, you don't run that on a solar panel...
I do miss a little bit of sharpness here and I was wondering you did not crop the composition a little bit more. I like it as it is, but I couldn't help myself adding a workshop ;-).
Have a good weekend!

Hi Chris,
amazing portrait, I like the combination of coulours and that you left a lot of the blue sky - leaving space for the boy´s dreams! Regards, Johannes

Hi Chris,
good portrait, nice colours and also a good choice to take it vertically.
Cheers Christian

Hi Chris,
That silky mauve dress is just marvelous to my eyes - really appealing the combination of colours here. I like also the boy's posture - maybe showing a bit more of the horse would have been interesting and would have worked well with your note. Love the vertical format.
Thank you.

Hello Chris,
Your travel route sounded incredible. As far as long journeys are concerned, someone said to me that a 12km bridge will link Russia to Alaska soon, so technically if you wanted to you could drive from the bottom of Africa across Gibraltar to continental Europe (and the UK via the Chunnel), across to Asia, continue into North America and down through Panama into South America. The only continents missing out are Australia and Antarctica. Imagine the time and fuel needed?! I have no evidence to back this claim up though, so I might have to do a little research.
I wonder how an electric washing machine would treat his attractive garment, the quality of his clothes looks to be very high. Reminds me of Bhutan's clothing. You have managed lighting in a very subtle way here; there is a total lack of intensity which is good to see. The inclusion of the horse could have been more pronounced, but I feel that you would rather keep the focus on the rider. The expression caught is good. The 3 or 4 dominant colours are very appealing and combine well to compliment one another. I can say that I'm looking forward to the rest. TFS.
