Photographer's Note

As one of the last unspoiled places on earth, Mongolia is a place for those with a spirit of adventure, willing to experience a way of life that brings you back to simplicity.

Out in the rural regions, families live the way they always have, with their herds of livestock, against a dramatic backdrop of wide open spaces and sweeping plains.

One evening, we asked our host Amra to show us how to milk a cow. Despite her best efforts in instruction, we found it a difficult task. Watching her skilled hands at work made us really appreciate the knowledge that we, despite our modern high tech cameras, have lost.
