Photographer's Note

this is an example to a tropical style dwelling that integrates timber and concrete in a contemporary manner. in humid conditions, sun shading, vertilation and air flow are very important thus a good design normally uses a lot of landscapes, internal courtyards and also shading devices like the bamboo blinds.

aesthetically, tropical styles still maintain the pleasant views and vistas. comfort level can be achieved without the extensive use of air conditioning (which Malaysians seemed to be so obsessed about of late).

this is a tropical bungalow in penang, one that i find truly impressive and designed with the environment in mind.

critiques, comments and ws welcomed.
