Photographer's Note
Before I move on from George Town to my next destination in Malaysia, a sequence of pictures taken in Beach Street.
Beach Street is a major thoroughfare and part of the central business district in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is also one of the oldest streets in Penang, having been created soon after the founding of Penang by Captain Francis Light in 1786.
The concentration of Malaysian and international banks around Beach Street has made George Town the financial hub within northern Malaysia. In addition, Beach Street is within the UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to the colonial architecture of the bank headquarters and other commercial buildings along the street. Administrative buildings built by the British also once stood along Beach Street; however, these buildings were destroyed during World War II.
Beach Street was so named as it was once a coastal road, stretching along the eastern shoreline of George Town. Today, the shoreline has been shifted further east due to the land reclamation in the late 19th century; Weld Quay has since become the eastern coastal road in George Town.

Hello Stephen,
Not only have you given us a fine view of the modern bank building, with its windowed frontage and reticulated pattern but, also, the reflection of the clouds billowing over the opposite building.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Stephen,
This facade seems specially designed to catch clouds. The window seems to have been opened to slur it inside.
You have made good use of the perspective when you determined the composition
Well done
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Bonjour, cher Stephen,
L'on dirait que les façades modernes veulent s'emparer de l'environnement et surtout du ciel avec ses nuages.
L'immeuble prend de ce fait une autre dimension.
Belle réussite.
Amitiés.

Hi Stephen,
The reflections on the windows are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the reflections and of the building. The light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Stephen,
Effective tight framing, good sharpness and a terrific warm cold colour contrast between the red and yellow sign at the bottom and the blue cyan tints. I also like the open window nicely breaking the repetitive pattern of squares in the building's facade. Tfs.

Bonjour Stephen,
Ce bâtiment est comme un très grand miroir dans lequel l'autre côté de la rue se mire pour constater si il est vraiment le plus beau, avec ciel et nuages en prime.
Amicalement

hello Stephen,
A rather plain facade but looks attractive with the reflections of the blue sky. The only one open window is a nice detail.
I will be probably out of the Internet for a few days.
Kind regards Malgo

Ciao Stephen
ecco uno dei grandi monitor che riflettono la vita di tutti i giorni, ormai presenti in ogni città.
Mi piace il.tuo taglio, l'insegna rossa ci sta bene, da un tocco di colore.
Saluti

Hi Stephen
this is once again, why the wide angle lens is excellent as a street photography lens. We get to see buildings in a way we otherwise wouldn't. nice to have a hint of reflections along the bottom as well. and the one open window strangely works as a focal point. cheers

Hello Stephen,
Now, this building does not look very historic, but does contain the reflection of a historic roof. I wonder how Islamic banks work, I think they have devised other terms for interest and pretend not to give or charge interest.
Regards,
MT
