Photographer's Note
Hi Friends,

This photo is a bit dark because it was shoot at the evening and all these architectures are under the shade. Kek Lok Si - it is the most famous and largest temple at Penang Island.
Workshop Photo 1 : Feel like visiting China
Additional Photo 2 : Another Photo
The construction of the temple began in 1890 and was inspired by the chief monk of the Goddess of Mercy Temple at Pitt Street. With the support of the consular representative of China in Penang, the project received the sanction of the Emperor Guangxu, who bestowed a tablet and gift of 70,000 volumes of the Imperial Edition of the Buddhist Sutras.

Note update 2013 :-

Hi Ally,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the temple. The trees are framing well the temple. The early evening light is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Ally
Welcome back from your Chinese New Year holiday break. So you were in Panang, which I did not visit for two weekends due to the Chinese New Year. I tried to avoid the rush. Kek Lok Si I have visited many times and I intend to go there next weekend if the weather still is fine. Just before 6 p.m. is a bit late, but still you produced an atmospheric shot with well saturated color hues and fine sharpness. Well done. Thanks for your critique of my Penang shot a bit earlier then your visit.
Best regards

Hello Ally,
Despite the lack of sunlight, your picture reproduces this beautiful architecture and details of the holiday decorations very well. In particular I like the traditional Chinese lanterns, which are everywhere. They create a special holiday's atmosphere. Excellently composed and perfectly captured. Very well done!

this temple has been the centre for visits to Ptenang and also some sort like an iconic landmark there.
You have shown it from a different angle and it is lively with bright colours.

Bonjour Ally,
Cette photo est excellente pour mettre en valeur cette architecture si particulière. Les moines semblent en prière sous le toit de gauche alors que des visiteurs se trouvent devant la façade violette.
Une photo très agréable !

Hello Ally, These Chinese temples have a unique style, always very ornate & painted in bright colours, when I was in Kuching I visited several of them, lovely peaceful atmosphere inside them. With light that was not ideal you manages a shot of this temple that has good colour & detail. The red lanterns a real bonus adding that splash of red that is part of the Chinese celebrations. WS images also very interesting.
Regards
Santo
