Photographer's Note

hello everyone,

this is a photo taken during the festival of 9 emperors, last month, where temples give thanks and praise to the Gods for 9 days.

it is a tradition to set up a stage, and perform for the Gods, yet in many parts of the country, the traditional chinese opera has been replaced by modern dancing and singing.(to me it is a waste, yet they have to comply to the modern trends nowadays)

i was very happy to see this during my visit to a temple in a small town,Taiping. it was in the early afternoon, and there were no audience except for a few temple devotees and caretakers.

i took a quick shot while standing in front of the stage. i hope u all like it. it was a happy day for me as i like to think that traditions make us who we are, and we lose our identities when we forget.

comments, critiques, and ws would be very appreciated.
