Photographer's Note
While trekking one late afternoon through a rainforested section of the Taman Negara called Seberang Ara, met a solitary hunter/forager looking for a wild tuber. He goes by the name "Hassan" from the Bateq Heb, an aboriginal ethnic indigenous within the Taman Negara or National Park in Pahang.
In this photo, a portrait work of him enjoying a smoke on his rest, with a view of the trail and forest he was coming through. Bateq Heb are pretty reserved and shy and would not look straight in the eyes when meeting or talking to strangers. They speak and understand very little Malay.

Assalammualaikum Bang,
Nice photo as usual. Really like the flash work here and the exposure just nice to show surround him

Hello Rabani,
The smoke adds a certain softness, a gentleness to this portrait. I also like the off-center position, with the man looking out of the frame, the dark bushes behind him.
With thanks for the good note.
Benny
